About

Aliona is a pianist and teacher living in Roslyn NY, where she maintains an independent studio. 

 

She began her musical instruction at age 6 in Moldova, and was strongly educated in the best traditions of the Russian Piano School. 

In 2000 graduated with honors and received a Teaching Diploma and Piano Performance Degree from the SN Music College. 

Same year Aliona won scholarship at UNMB where she studied piano with Dan Grigore one of the leading romanian pianists of the second half of the twentieth century. 

 

During Conservatory years she studied various courses in piano performance, accompanied singers for master classes, auditions, chamber music recitals and competitions.

 

Aliona has been a professional piano teacher and active accompanist since leaving the University, sharing her love for music for the past 20 years.

 

In addition to her musical expertise she has been a positive role model in terms of her dedication, a patient teacher who encourages her students to reach their full potential by challenging them to set long-term goals, offering them unique playing opportunities, and making music an integral part of their lives.

Aliona has also colaborated as a pianist with schools, students at VPA -Syracuse University, and with other soloists and organizations in the Syracuse and Long island area.
